Skagit Countywide UGA Open Space Concept Plan

Skagit County developed this open space program to comply with the requirements of RCW 36.70A.110(2) to permit "greenbelt and open space areas" within urban growth areas and the requirement of RCW 36.70A.160 to "identify open space corridors within and between urban growth areas." The plan includes lands useful for recreation, wildlife habitat, trails, and connection of critical areas. The plan does not mandate that identified areas be regulated or protected, and does not create a regulatory land use designation nor allow public access by default. Instead, the plan identifies priority areas within the county to be considered for a strictly voluntary open space preservation program

Adopted Plan
