Open Space Concept Plan

|
Skagit
County developed this open space program to comply with the requirements
of RCW 36.70A.110(2) to permit "greenbelt and open space areas"
within urban growth areas and the requirement of RCW 36.70A.160 to
"identify open space corridors within and between urban growth
areas." The plan includes lands useful for recreation, wildlife
habitat, trails, and connection of critical areas. The plan does not
mandate that identified areas be regulated or protected, and does
not create a regulatory land use designation nor allow public access
by default. Instead, the plan identifies priority areas within the
county to be considered for a strictly voluntary open space preservation
program
