Concealed Pistol License

FEES NON REFUNDABLE & PAID UPON APPLICATION
PLEASE REVIEW CONDITIONS FOR ELIGIBILITY CAREFULLY

Effective July 23, 1995 and pursuant to RCW 9.41.070 fees for Concealed Pistol Licenses are "Nonrefundable, paid upon application."

Please review your application form carefully as it explains conditions for eligibility to receive a Concealed Pistol License.

Nonrefundable fees paid upon application are as follows:

Original application fee $49.00
   
Renewal application fee $32.00
Late Renewal & late penalty $42.00
Replacement fee $10.00

Application processing time:

  • Original applications can take up to 30 days
  • Renewal applications & Replacements can take up to 30 days.
  • Out of state resident applications can take up to 60 days
  • Make all CPL payment checks out to "Skagit County Sheriff's Office"

A license may be renewed up to 90 days prior to the expiration date of the license or 90 days after expiration for an additional fee. The new license will expire 5 years from the expiration date on the previous license. There are no grace periods once a license expires. The $42.00 Late Renewal fee applies after expiration.

To Renew an Existing License which is NOT 90 days past the expiration date:

Use the application form. Mail the completed form, a copy of your existing Concealed Pistol License, and the required fee to:

Skagit County Sheriff
600 s 3rd Street
Mount Vernon, WA 98273.

Make all CPL payment checks out to "Skagit County Sheriff's Office."

If your application is approved your permit will be mailed to you after the processing time is complete. If your application is denied you will be mailed notice stating the reason for denial.

Active Deployed Military

Active deployed military in need of renewal can print an application form and mail to:

Skagit County Sheriff
600 s 3rd Street
Mount Vernon, WA 98273.

Application packet must include:

  1. Required fee (Make checks out to "Skagit County Sheriff's Office")
  2. Copy of military orders,
  3. Notarized proof of identity

Renewal for active deployed military personnel will only be valid for 1 year.

If your application is approved your permit will be mailed to you after the processing time is complete. If your application is denied you will be mailed notice stating the reason for denial.
